Metal connection techniques in the field of welding are experiencing quite rapid development now. There are several types of welding processes, SMAW is one of the welding processes that is generally used. AISI 1050 steel is medium carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.47%-0.55%. This steel is quite commonly used in vehicle components. The type of electrode used will greatly determine the welding results, so it is important to know the type and properties of each electrode as a basis for selecting the right electrode. This research aims to obtain the mechanical properties and microstructure shape of AISI 1050 steel material due to SMAW welding with a current of 100 A and variations of electrodes E6013, E7016, E7018. The test methods used were tensile tests, hardness tests using the Vickers method, impact tests using the Charpy method, and microstructure tests. Based on the tests that have been carried out, the most optimal welding results are found on specimens using E7016 electrodes with a tensile stress value of 698.19 Mpa, a tensile strain value of 3.4%, an average hardness value in the base metal area of 249.8 VHN , in the HAZ area it reaches 310.4 VHN and in the weld area it reaches 233.6 VHN, the impact value obtained is 157,13 J/cm2. Based on the results of microstructural testing on specimens with the E7016 electrode variation, the pearlite microstructure is more lots and denser than the E6013 and E7018 electrode variationsen_US
