    Abstract
Clean water is one of the basic human needs which is obtained from various sources. Clean water generally comes from surface water and ground water. The research begins with a literature study, then preparation of tools and materials for sampling, collecting field data, taking water samples for testing (physics, chemistry and biology). Based on the results of shallow groundwater quality testing in Nagasaribu II Village, Lintong Nihuta District,Humbang Hasundutan Regency based on physical, chemical and biological parameters.Physical parameters include temperature, TDS, turbidity, and color. Chemical parameters include the degree of acidity (pH), BOD, COD, Nitrate, Iron (Fe), and Manganese (Mn).Biological parameters include Total Coliform. Sampling points that exceed the quality standards of Government Regulation no. 22 of 2021 in shallow wells, namely: In December 2023 sampling points that did not comply with quality standards in the form of physical parameters were Shallow Well 1 with a temperature value of 22.5 °C. Meanwhile, the chemical parameters are Shallow Well 1 with a pH value of 5.6 and a BOD value of 3.1 Mg/L. Shallow Well 2 with a BOD value of 4.8 Mg/L. Shallow Well 3 with a pH value of 5.5.Shallow Well 4 with a BOD value of 3.4 Mg/L. In February 2024, the sampling point that did not comply with quality standards in the form of physical parameters was Shallow Well 1 with a temperature value of 21.6°C. Shallow Well 2 with a value of 22.5°C. Shallow Well 3 with a value of 21.5°C. Meanwhile, the chemical parameters are Shallow Well 1 with a BOD value of 3.1 Mg/L. Shallow Well 2 with a BOD value of 3.6 Mg/L. Shallow Well 4 with a BOD value of 3.4 Mg/L
