    Abstract
This research aims to see the differences in family flexing of officials, artists and student celebrities from the perspective of students in the city of Medan. The research method used is a quantitative approach method located in the city of Medan with a population of 4 universities, namely North Sumatra University, Medan State University, HKBP Nomensen University, and North Sumatra Islamic University, with a sample size of 196 respondents. This research uses ANOVA test calculations by looking at differences in family flexing of officials, artists and student celebrities. The research results show that flexing behavior is more dominantly shown by artists (Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina) seen in indicators of narcissism, social status, hyperbole and trends. In flexing student celebgrams, the narcissistic indicators are visible. However, in the children of officials (Mario Dendy) there were no visible differences in several indicators such as narcissism, social status, happiness, or following trends. Furthermore, the results of the independent sample t-test show that there are significant differences between the views of male and female respondents towards flexing based on indicators of happiness and well-being (for celebrity students) as well as on hyperbolic indicators (for children of officials). This suggests that in certain contexts, gender can influence perceptions of flexing behavior. Based on Baudrillard's theory, the flexing carried out by artists Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina who show off luxury on social media is a form of representational simulacra that replaces reality and creates hyperreality. Many students are influenced by this simulation and consider the display of wealth to be a new reality. However, even though students (celebrities) do not have the fame or wealth of children of officials or artists, they are also involved in creating symbols through flexing on social media.
