dc.description.abstract | The general problems that big cities often face are increasing population growth, uncontrolled land conversion, shrinking green land and excessive exploitation of natural resources. Medan City Government has carried out various groundwater conservation efforts, including the construction of infiltration wells for rainwater harvesting. An infiltration well is a system or structure designed to collect, absorb and store rainwater in the ground. The main purpose of infiltration wells is to control the speed of rainwater flow and prevent puddles or surface erosion. The use of pervious concrete can be a solution for environmental ecology, where pervious concrete is able to absorb runoff and puddles of water into the ground and can maintain groundwater reserves because it is not wasted in drainage channels. Apart from that, Green concrete is a concept introduced in 1998 in Denmark. This concept considers environmental aspects in the use of construction materials. In this research, the infiltration well was divided into two segments with an outer diameter of 0.5 meters and an inner diameter of 0.4 meters, a depth of 1 meter. And there are 2 types of infiltration wells, namely Pervious Concrete and Green Pervious Concrete, for which the infiltration rate ratio will be calculated using the Horton method and the infiltration rate value for Green Pervious Concrete will be calculated at 27,200 cm/hour. Meanwhile, the infiltration rate value for the Pervious Concrete infiltration well is 15,000 cm/hour. From these results it can be concluded that Green Pervious Concrete infiltration wells are more effective than Pervious Concrete | en_US |
