Within the biological realm, all organisms possess an immune system, a defense mechanism that functions as the primary barrier against various pathogens such as viruses, parasites, and bacteria. Autoimmune diseases, conversely, arise from a malfunction of the human immune system, targeting and damaging healthy tissues within the body. These diseases can affect individuals of any age or gender, although women and children are more frequently diagnosed, with a prevalence of 75% in this demographic. This can be attributed to two primary factors. Firstly, initial symptoms often mimic common ailments, including fatigue, joint pain, fever, and diarrhea. Secondly, cost and time constraints may discourage individuals from seeking medical attention from specialists. To address this knowledge gap and facilitate earlier diagnosis, a web-based expert system is proposed. This system leverages case-based reasoning and certainty factor methods. By identifying similarities between new cases and existing knowledge within a database, the system generates a diagnosis and assigns a certainty value reflecting the confidence level. This approach has been validated with a 30-point test data set, demonstrating a 96% accuracy rate.
