    Abstract
    This paper describes The Pesugihen myth is a significant part of the cultural heritage of the Karo people, an ethnic group indigenous to the highlands of North Sumatra, Indonesia. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive description of the origin and ritual process associated with the Pesugihen myth within the Karonese culture. The Pesugihen myth is an origin story that explains the creation of the world and the emergence of the Karo people, centering around the figures of Pesugihen, who are considered the ancestors of the Karo community. The myth is deeply ingrained in various aspects of Karo life, shaping their beliefs, practices, and worldview. It plays a vital role in rituals and ceremonies related to agriculture, fertility, community gatherings, and rites of passage, reflecting the Karo people's close relationship with nature and their belief in the existence of spiritual forces. This paper delves into the significance of the Pesugihen myth, its cultural context, and its impact on the daily lives of the Karo community. By examining this deeply rooted oral tradition, the paper aims to contribute to the understanding and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the Karo people. To collect data about the Pesugihen Myth in karo culture through interviews with spiritual experts, as well as various sources such as books, the internet, and journals regarding the origin and ritual process of the pesugihen myth in karo culture. The theory used is Levi-Strauss structural theory, explaining the exploration of tradition, myth, religion, and education to identify and characterize characters.
