This research focuses on testing a refrigerator with a capacity of 6.5 liters of water with the main source of solar energy. Solar energy can be an effective solution to the increasing need for electrical energy which has caused an energy crisis. To produce electrical energy, solar energy technology can be achieved using modules called solar panels. This solar panel can convert sunlight into electrical energy that can be used directly. This research aims to obtain the parameters needed to calculate COP. The test equipment used is a photovoltaic solar panel which functions to produce electricity from sunlight energy by utilizing the working principle of the photovoltaic effect. Apart from that, the experimental set up in this research also consists of a solar charge controller, battery, inverter and refrigerator compressor. From the results of experimental research testing a refrigerator with a capacity of 6.5 liters of solar-powered water, it was concluded that testing the cooling system with a load with a test time of 8 hours, the lowest temperature that could be achieved was - 5.8℃. From experimental calculations it is known that the average COP of a refrigerator with a capacity of 6.5 liters of water powered by solar energy is 2.78. It is known that the average efficiency of photovoltaic solar panels is 11.84%
