Analisis Kapasitas Penampang Saluran Drainase di Jl. Marelan Raya Pasar 3 Kecamatan Medan Marelan

Abstract

One of the problems that often occurs in the city of Medan is flooding. One of the problems with flooding is caused by inadequate drainage channels. This research was carried out with the aim of (1) knowing the drainage flow pattern and catchment area area, (2) knowing the appropriate distribution, (3) getting the rainfall intensity, (4) getting the planned flood discharge, (5) knowing whether the drainage channels are still able to accommodate the planned flood discharge. This research is analytical using primary data and secondary data. Then after getting the data, we then enter the stage of analyzing the data with two types of analysis, namely hydrological analysis and hydraulic analysis. Hydrological analysis includes rainfall frequency, surface flow coefficient, concentration time, runoff coefficient, rainfall intensity and planned discharge. Hydraulic analysis includes channel cross-sectional capacity and dimensional evaluation for the planned discharge. Based on results, it was found that the channel located on Jl. Marelan Raya Pasar 3 can no longer accommodate the rainfall that falls in the area, so it is necessary to change the dimensions of the drainage channel
