dc.description.abstractMedan City is the third largest city in Indonesia, a city with a fairly large area that certainly has many advantages and disadvantages, and also various kinds of problems in it. One of the problems that still often occurs is flooding. Gabus Street is one of the roads that is often affected by flooding. After research, the flooding that often occurs is caused by the inability of Drainage to accommodate water which will later be channeled to the River and also the narrowing of the drainage channel due to a bridge which results in the accumulation of water around the bridge area. Also the lack of maintenance on the Drainage and many people who still throw garbage into the Drainage is a strong trigger for flooding to occur. Based on the results of the rain intensity study and the calculation of the discharge plan, it is concluded that the area around the Gabus road bridge has a fairly high rainfall intensity and a discharge that exceeds the capacity of the Drainage. Due to the inability to have Drainage that can accommodate water discharge, a redesign of the Drainage is carried out. So that there is a change in the dimensions of the Drainage which is expected to accommodate water discharge in the Gabus Road bridge area, Medan Perjuangan Districten_US
