    Abstract
The analysis of crystallinity and morphology of Graphene Nano Sheets (GNS) from three biomass raw materials (coconut shell, candlenut shell, and corn cob) produced from variations in the mass ratio of charcoal chips and activated carbon has been carried out. This study aimed to analyze the crystallinity and morphology of GNS at varying mass ratios of charcoal chips and activated carbon by pyrolysis method and to analyze the effect of activated carbon addition on GNSs produced. This research is an experimental. GNS production was carried out by pyrolysis method at variations in the mass ratio of charcoal chips : activated carbon (1 : 2, 1 : 3, and 2 : 1). The resulting GNS were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX), and Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR). XRD data of GNS at mass ratio variations of 1 : 2, 1 : 3, and 2 : 1 showed a broad and weak peak at C (002) (2θ = 23.8°, 24.5°, and 24.2°), meaning that GBN was successfully produced with amorphous crystallinity. SEM data showed the presence of thin layers stacked on GNS, and EDX data showed an increase in carbon atoms (C) of 81-87 % and a decrease in oxygen atoms (O) of 12-16 % with the addition of activated carbon. The effect of activated carbon on charcoal chips can be seen from the abundance of carbon atoms (C) and a high decrease in oxygen atoms (O). The best results were obtained at a mass ratio of charcoal chips and activated carbon of 1 : 3 to produce GNS on a large scale. The data showed that GNS on a large scale can be produced from coconut shell, candlenut shell, and corn cob raw materials by pyrolysis method and the critical role of activated carbon in converting raw materials into GNS.
