    Abstract
Snakehead fish (Channa striata) is one of the fish that can accelerate wound healing, because it has main contents such as relatively high protein and albumin, amino acids, fatty acids, minerals, zinc (Zn), copper and iron (Fe). The purpose of this study is to see the effect of snakehead fish extract gel with a concentration of 1% and 3% in the inflammatory phase in wound healing after tooth extraction. This study used 48 wistar rats divided into four groups with base gel, snakehead fish extract gel with a concentration of 1%, snakehead fish extract gel with a concentration of 3% and diclofenac sodium as a positive control and will be tested to see clinically residual socket volume and microscopically using hematoxylin-eosin (HE) to see the mean cell count of neutrophils and fibroblasts on days 1, 3 and 7. The data of this study were subjected to one-way ANOVA test followed by LSD test which stated that there was a significant difference in the mean cell count of neutrophils and fibroblasts on days 1 and 3 after extraction. However, there was an increase in neutrophils on day 7. Based on the results of ANOVA and post-hoct LSD tests, it shows that snakehead fish extract gel is not effective on the inflammatory phase in wound healing after tooth extraction.
