    Abstract
Background: Balakka (Phyllanthus emblica L.) is a plant from the Phyllanthaceae family. This plant has a cardioprotective effect through the mechanisms of reducing oxidative stress, reducing lipid peroxidation, increasing endogenous antioxidant levels, and protecting against ischemia reperfusion injury. The contents of balakka that are reported to have cardioprotective activity are flavonoids, triterpenoids, tannins, and other metabolite contents such as tannoids, gallic acid, elagic acid, and corilagin. Objective: To determine the effect of ethanolic extract of balakka fruit on Troponin T and CK-MB of rats induced by doxorubicin. Methods: The biomarkers Troponin T and CK-MB in mice were measured using the ELISA method. Mice were divided into 6 test groups with each treatment, namely normal group, positive control, negative control, and 3 extract test groups. The extract treatment group was given ethanol extract of balakka fruit at concentrations of 100, 300, and 500 mg/KgBW respectively for 14 consecutive days. The positive control group was induced by quercetin 100 mg/KgBW for 14 consecutive days. On the 15th day, the extract treatment group, positive control group and negative control group were induced by 10 mg/KgBW of doxorubicin. On the 16th day, blood serum was taken and Troponin T and CK-MB levels were measured using the appropriate ELISA kit. Results: Troponin T and CK-MB levels in the normal group, positive control and EEBB 100, 300, and 500 mg/KgBW test groups were significantly different from the negative control group. The EEBB 500 mg/KgBW test group was not significantly different from the normal group and positive control. Conclusion: EEBB can reduce the levels of Troponin T and CK-MB in rats induced by doxorubicin.
