T Inalum is a company engaged in the production of aluminum owned by the Indonesian state based in Asahan Regency, North Sumatra. In the production of aluminum there is waste generated, one of the wastes generated during aluminum production is Baking Filter Dust (BFD). BFD comes from the combustion process of pure anode (pure carbon) which is printed pre-processed mixed with ceramic ball at a temperature of 1250oC for 38 hours. The amount of BFD produced per day is 600 kg per day so that it accumulates and risks polluting the environment. In this study, BFD was utilized as a substitute for cement to increase the compressive strength of concrete in comparison to normal concrete. The method used in this research is experimental with 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% BFD variations and with time variations of 3, 7, 14, and 28 days. The results showed that the optimum compressive strength variation occurred in the 5%BFD variation with a compressive strength of 33.97 MPa with a 28-day soaking time. The compressive strength decreases as the variation is increased. The results of concrete absorption with BFD show that the greater the variation of BFD used, the smaller the absorption of concrete. Because the BFD grain size of 0.79 μm is finer than cement which is 12-20 μm. so that BFD can be called filler or filler material which causes reduced absorption in concreteen_US
