    Abstract
Medicinal plants are types of plants which in certain parts, including roots, stems, skin, leaves or fruit from the use of these plants, are believed to be able to cure or reduce pain. Ethnobotanical studies in Sijambur Village regarding medicinal plants are very important for the community's knowledge about the types of plants that are used because the people in that village are known to still use these types of plants as medicine. This research was carried out in June – July 2022. The location of this research was held in Sijambur Village, Ronggur Nihuta District, Samosir Regency, North Sumatra Province. Based on the results of interviews conducted with 81 respondents, it is known that there are 33 types of plants that are used by the community traditionally. Leaves are the most widely used part with a percentage of 40% or 20 of the 50 species of medicinal plants. From the results of interviews conducted, it is known that there are 8 ways to process medicinal plants: without processing, boiled, pounded, squeezed, oil extracted, evaporated, grated, and fermented. Of the eight processing methods, the no-processing method is the processing method most often used by the people of Sijambur Village with a percentage of 42.85% (21 of 49 types of medicinal plants).
