    Abstract
    Sambung Nyawa leaves are one part of the plant that is efficacious in treating diabetes and several studies have proven that ethanol extract of sambung nyawa leaves can reduce blood glucose levels. However, the effect of sambung nyawa leaves in treating spleen damage due to diabetes still needs to be studied. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving ethanol extract of sambung nyawa leaves on spleen weight, spleen color changes, white pulp diameter, and capsule and trabeculae thickness. This study was conducted from September 2023 to December 2023. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of six treatments and four replicates, namely normal control which was only given food and drink, positive control which was only induced by alloxan 150 mg/kgBB, treatment (alloxan 150 mg/kgBB + metformin 45 mg/kgBB) and administration of ethanol extract of sambung nyawa leaves with concentrations of 100, 150, 200 mg/kgBB. The results showed that the administration of ethanol extract of sambung nyawa leaves 150 mg/KgBB had an effect on reducing weight with an average of 0.72 g, improving the diameter of the white pulp with an average of 160.46 μm and the thickness of the capsule with an average of 4.78 μm and the thickness of the trabeculae with an average of 4.72 μm.
