Implementation of IoT (Internet of Things) in the Design and Construction of Aquaponic Rice Plant Monitoring Systems
Abstract
Aquaponic rice cultivation is one way of planting rice that is used if available agricultural land is increasingly limited. Aquaponic cultivation can be done by utilizing a narrow area of land flowing with water in which fish are raised which will benefit rice plants. The mutually beneficial life cycles of fish and rice make aquaponics a highly recommended choice. However, aquaponic cultivation needs to be monitored at all times. Therefore, in this final assignment, research was carried out on aquaponic cultivation by utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) system. In this research, an aquaponic rice cultivation monitoring system was designed using an ESP8266 microcontroller and Arduino Uno supported by a number of sensors. The sensors used are the DHT11 sensor for air temperature and humidity, turbidity for water turbidity, soil moisture for soil moisture, PIR sensor for detecting bird pests through temperature, ESP32-CAM for taking pictures for visual detection of pests, and a buzzer as a warning giver. Voice. Test results show that the designed hardware and software function well. Sensors can provide the necessary data which is displayed via the Node-RED platform on the website. Notifications to users were successfully sent via the Telegram Bot application
