    Abstract
    This research is title "Analysis of Poetry and Movements Saman Presented by Kerawang Gayo in Medan City”. This research aims to analyze the saman Gayo dance, to analyze the saman dance of the North Sumatra Kerawang Gayo Student Youth Association (IPPMKGSU) Kerawang Gayo in Medan City, to analyze the poetry and movements of the saman presented by Kerawang Gayo in Medan City. This research uses Hermunistic Theory, where this theory explains interpretation. The data analysis method uses the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results, it is known that the form of presentation of the saman dance in Kerawang Gayo can be seen through several elements, namely in the form of movements, poetry accompaniment, costumes, props, floor patterns. The structure of the movements presented by kerawang gayo include: the greeting movement means that every Muslim is obliged to always greet fellow Muslims when they meet, the bowing movement contains the meaning of respect for fellow human beings, the movement of hitting the chest contains the meaning of patriotic feelings or a sense of heroism. by every Gayo person, the kertek movement contains the meaning of joy, the anguk movement means remembrance, this means the obligation of a servant to always make remembrance of Him, the girik movement contains the meaning that the world is always turning and this movement also symbolizes that life is always moving and changing, The singkih movement means a movement that resembles the form of "greeting" in prayer, the langak movement means raising your hands up or praying, the clapping movement is a symbol of expressing joy or happiness. The poetry sung in the saman dance is full of advice and reflects the relationship between humans and God, and humans and nature.
