    Abstract
The objective of this research is to delve into the management of library service for children at Binjai Library Agency. This research employs descriptive qualitative method and collects data through observation, interview, and documentation. It determines its informants, consisting of head of service and automation section of services for children, head of library materials procurement and management section, and two staff in the service for children, by applying purposive sampling technique. The data analysis is made by performing data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The research findings demonstrate that the service for children at Binjai Library Agency according to IFLA Guidelines for Library Services to Children aged 0-18 (2018) consists of 4 categories, namely; 1) the available collections are in accordance with the guidelines, namely the availability of children’s story books, science and religion while the collections that are not yet available consist of audio-visual collections and local contents; 2) the types of activities in the services for children do not fully meet the guidelines, including film screening activities, information literacy and family literacy activities, while the activities held are storytelling, visits from school and circulation services; 3) the partnerships and collaborations that have been established are appropriate, namely the partnership between the library and the sub-district, student organizations, society, and communities; 4) human resources in children’s services are not fully suitable, including staff who have not been able to design programs for children’s information needs while the appropriate criteria are that child service staff have built a friendly environment so that children can more easily participate in the library activities.
