Perbandingan Virtues dan Character Strengths antara Mahasiswa Perantau dan Mahasiswa Tidak Perantau

Abstract

This study aims to compare virtues and character strengths between migrant students and non-migrant students class of 2023 at the University of North Sumatra. This research focuses on virtues which are the basis of all aspects of human life and play an important role in balancing individual activities, so as to achieve a good life despite being faced with difficult situations. The phenomenon in this study is based on the different demands of the situation to adapt between new students who come from within the city and outside the city, it is likely that the virtues needed will be different. By finding differences in the two groups, it can be estimated that the adaptation pattern is suitable to help new students adapt. The subjects of this study amounted to 213 students of the University of North Sumatra who were evenly distributed throughout the faculties at the University of North Sumatra. This study uses one scale to measure the comparison of virtues between overseas students and non-migrant students. The results showed the value of Sig. (2-tailed) value obtained is 0.373, the value is> from 0.05, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in the level of virtues of overseas students and non-migrant students.
