Synthesis of Carbon dots (CDs) from jengkol peel precursors with double doping of Nitrogen and Sulfur using the hydrothermal method has been carried out. Urea and Sodium thiosulfate are used as Nitrogen and Sulfur doping sources respectively. Jengkol bark powder and doping compound in a 1:1 ratio were put into a glass beaker, dissolved in distilled water and stirred using a magnetic stirrer at 11 rpm for 15 minutes. Then put it in an autoclave and heated at 220oC for 7 hours. Next, centrifuged at a speed of 3500 rpm for 1 hour. The resulting CDs and N,S-CDs were characterized using a 395 nm UV lamp showing bluish green fluorescence and analysis using a UV-Visible spectrophotometer showed the absorbance of CDs at a wavelength of 290 nm and N,S-CDs at a wavelength of 300 nm. The FTIR spectrum of CDs and N,S-CDs produces O-H and C=O functional groups and there are C-N groups at a wavelength of 1416 cm-1 and C-S at a wavelength of 1103 cm-1. Photoluminescence analysis of CDs and N,S-CDs produces emission peaks at wavelengths of 463 nm and 495 nm which indicate a shift in wavelength towards red (red shift). The particle distribution from TEM analysis gives an average particle diameter value of 3.86 nm for CDs and 5.92 nm for N,S-CDs. Obtained quantum yield (QY) values were 4.9% for CDs and 20.5% for N,S-CDs.en_US
