dc.description.abstractThis thesis is entitled “Learning Toba Batak Script through Huling-huling Ansa as character formation”.As for the purpose of this study was to determine how the application of the Batak Toba script learning model throught huling-huling ansa at SD N 8 Siantinganting, then what are the character values contained in learning the Batak Toba script throught huling-huling ansa at SD N 8 Siantinganting. This study uses field research, namely a descriptive qualitative approach, namely a narrative description of a process that is in accordance with the problem being studied and the results of research findings in the form of data or informants. The subjects of this study were all students, especially the upper classes, namely classes IV, V and VI at SD N 8 Siantinganting. There are two theories used in analyzing the data in this study, namely the constructivism learning theory put forward by Sigit Mangun Wardoyo and the local wisdom theory put forward by Robeth Sibarani Data analysis techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques using qualitative, data analysis explained in narrative form. The results of the study showed that (1) The application of the Batak Toba script learing model through huling-huling ansa uses the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning method through the huling-huling ansa, and implementing seven components before starting learning activities, namely constructivism, inquiry, asking, learning communities, modeling, refection and real modeling. In addition, six steps are implemented, namely: the preliminary stage, association stage, interpretation stage, implementation stage, refection stage, and evaluation stage. Besides that, (2) Character values in learning the Batak Toba script through huling-huling ansa are religious, honest, tolerant, disciplined, hard working, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, national spirit, love og the homeland, respect for achievement, friendly, love of peace, love of reading, care for the environment, care for society and responsibility.en_US
