This research aims to find out whether there is a relationship between emotional
intelligence and teacher efficacy in non-special education teachers at SLB Negeri
Pembina North Sumatra Province level. Emotional intelligence is a person's ability
to recognize, understand and manage their emotions in dealing with other people.
Teacher efficacy is a teacher's belief in his ability to teach in a particular context.
The number of respondents was 41 teachers using a total sampling technique. The
research method used is a quantitative method with a correlational research
design. Data collection was carried out using the likert teacher efficacy scale
constructed by Callista and Natasya (2024) based on the teacher efficacy theory of
Tschannen-Moran and Hoy (2001) which consists of 23 items. The emotional
intelligence scale was constructed by researchers from Goleman's (1995)
emotional intelligence theory which consists of 28 items. The data obtained was
processed using the Pearson product moment technique with the help of the IBM
Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 29 application. The
results of the correlation test showed that the correlation coefficient value was r =
0.671, (p= 0.000; p<0.05), which means that there is a relationship between
emotional intelligence and teacher efficacy in non-special education teachers at
SLB Negeri Pembina North Sumatra Province level.
