    Abstract
This study aims to analyze the use of hu amulet paper in the Taoist tradition at Nam Hai Sha Pek Temple in Medan. The hu amulet paper is one of the sacred media in Taoism that is believed to have spiritual powers for protection, healing, and good luck. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a field study approach. Data were obtained through direct observation, in-depth interviews with tatung and Taoists in the temple. The results showed that Hu amulet paper has an important role in the spiritual life of Taoists at Nam Hai Sha Pek Temple. This amulet paper is usually made by tatung or Taoist priests by following special rituals and prayers. The use of hu amulet paper covers various aspects of life, from healing illnesses, to protection of homes and businesses. This finding confirms that the tradition of using Hu amulet paper is still very relevant and respected within Taoists in Medan. This research is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of Taoist traditions in Indonesia, particularly in the context of the use of hu amulet paper. In addition, this research is also expected to be a reference for future studies on religious practices and local culture.
