    Abstract
The use of injectable contraceptives by women of childbearing age couples (PUS) is the highest proportion in lndonesia compared to other contraceptives. The use of injectable contraceptives aims to control the birth spacing, thereby lowering population growth rates and maintaining the welfare of mothers and children. Injectable contraceptives types one month or three months, contain estrogen and progesterone, which can lead to side effects such as irregularities in the menstrual cycle commonly experienced by women of childbearing age couples (PUS). This condition can cause physical, psychological, and social impacts in the form of difficulty determining the fertile period, fertility disorders, anxiety, stress, impaired activity, relationship discomfort and social isolation. Irregularities are associated with various health conditions such as metabolic syndrome, coronary heart disease, diabetes mellitus, rheumatoid arthritis. The research uses correlation analytical design as well as univariate and bivariate analysis through chi - square statistical test to determine the correlation between injectable contraceptive use and menstrual cycle of women of childbearing age couples in Klambir Lima Village. Research samples are made up of 77 respondents, collected using convenience sampling sampling. There are 24 (31.2%) PUS women using I-month injectable contraceptive and 53 (68.8%) PUS women using 3-month injectable contraceptive. The results show that the majority of respondents use I-month injectable contraceptives, 17 respondents experience regular menstrual cycles compared to the majority of respondents who use 3- month injectable contraceptives, 42 respondents experience menstrual cycle irregularities. Chi-square statistical test indicates P-Value 0.00/ (<0.05), indicating there is a correlation between the use of injectable contraceptives and the menstrual cycle of women of childbearing age couples in Klambir Lima Village. It is expected that farther research can provide health education regarding the side effects of injectable contraceptive use, enabling women of childbearing age couples (PUS) to prevent menstrual cycle irregularities and achieve a healthy and prosperous small family, aligning with the intended goals of contraceptive use.
