Abstract
Nurses are a crucial element of the healthcare system. A novice nurse represents the transition from being a student to becoming a practicing nurse. This transition can cause anxiety, nervousness, fear, insecurity and stress at work, but during this transition, the novice nurse will demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have acquired. Self-efficacy plays a crucial role in resilience through challenges. Fostering optimistic thinking, and accomplishing tasks. The research aims to identify the correlation of self-efficacy and work performance of novice nurses in RSUP (General Hospital) H. Adam Malik. The research uses descriptive correlational design to identify the strength and direction of the correlation between the measured variables. The research samples are made up of 43 novice nurses working in RSUP H. Adam Malik who are selected using total sampling technique. Data obtained are analyzed using Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient (r parson) analysis. The result finds p-value of 0.000>0.05. meaning that there is a correlation between self-efficacy and work performance of novice nurses. The result of Pearson's product moment correlation (r pearson) shows p-value of 0.683, meaning that there is a strong and positive correlation between self-efficacy and work performance of novice nurses. The analysis concludes that as the self-efficacy of novice nurses increases, their work performance also improve. Based on the research results, it is expected that the nurses, especially novice nurses, are able to improve both their self-efficacy and performance.
