dc.description.abstractThe use of energy by the community in both public and private facilities such as houses, offices, and so on is very large. Given that the available energy supply is very limited, it is necessary to save energy by reducing the amount of energy usage. One of them is by utilizing lighting efficiently, then energy savings will be achieved so that energy supply is maintained and energy usage costs will also be more efficient with good lighting quality. In this thesis, optimization is carried out on the lighting system with the Retrofit and Delamping method using DIALux software in the Electrical Engineering Department building, University of North Sumatra. After optimization, it is obtained an increase in power efficiency from 10279.8 W in the state before redesign to 5193 W in the state after optimization, meaning that there is an increase in power efficiency of 1340 W with an increase in the standard reaching 95%en_US
