Perencanaan Sistem Pembangkit Hybrid pada Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Sampah dan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya di TPA Terjun Kota Medan Menggunakan Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewables (HOMER)
Hybrid Power System Planning in Waste Power Plant and Solar Power Plant in Medan City's Terjun TPA Using Hybrid Optimization Model for Renewable Electricity (HOMER)
Abstract
New and renewable energy plays a crucial role in supporting sustainable energy
supply, including energy from solar thermal, wind power, solar power, biological
processes, and other sources. These energies can be optimized to generate electricity
through the use of appropriate equipment and processes, thereby reducing dependence on
fossil fuels in power generation. An example of the application of new and renewable
energy is the utilization of waste and solar energy in a Hybrid Power Plant (PLTH)
system. PLTH combines two or more renewable energy sources to increase the energy,
effectiveness, and efficiency of the system. This research aims to design a hybrid power
plant with a capacity of 690 kW, integrating Waste Power Plant (PLTSa) and Solar Power
Plant (PLTS) using HOMER software, with the research location at Terjun Landfill
(TPA), Medan City. Terjun landfill has a daily waste volume of 132 m³ or 324,000
kg/day and a solar radiation intensity of 4.4 kWh/m²/month. The results showed that
energy production from both plants reached 736,182 kWh per year, with a total net
present cost (NPC) at the optimal configuration of Rp. 35,876,036,503.4. The cost of
electricity generation (COE) was recorded at Rp. 15,011.57 per kWh with full energy
production from the waste-to-energy plant and solar power plant for one year
