Human resources play an important role in the development of companies, in which there are various generations that differ in the way they work, one of which is generation Z employees who are growing and dominating. However, this generation likes to move or leave their workplace due to various factors, some of which are work engagement and personal resources. This study aims to determine the effect of personal resources on job hopping intention with work engagement as a mediating variable among generation Z employees in Medan City. Data collection was conducted through a survey using a questionnaire, a correlational quantitative method distributed to generation Z employees who work in various industrial sectors. A total of 122 respondents were collected and analyzed using multiple linear regression, path analysis and Sobel to test the research hypothesis. The results of the analysis show that the z value is 0.285<1.96 and the t test result of 6.563 shows a negative relationship and the coefficient of determination is 72.1%> 38.8% which concludes that the work engagement variable is not able to mediate the effect of personal resources variables on job hopping intention variables. So it can be concluded that the hypothesis in this study is rejected.
