    Abstract
Flooding is a complex problem that often occurs in various urban areas, resulting in significant social, economic and environmental impacts. Percut Sei Tuan District is not exempt from the threat of flooding, especially around the area of the Belmera Toll Bridge to Simpang Beo on the Transportation Road. This research aims to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the drainage system as a strategic effort to minimize the risk of flooding in the area. The research methods used include field surveys to evaluate the physical and functional conditions of existing drainage, hydrological analysis to determine the hydrological characteristics of the area, and hydraulic analysis to model water flow in drainage channels. The research results show that the existing drainage system faces a number of challenges, including insufficient channel capacity to accommodate maximum water discharge during periods of extreme rain. Apart from that, factors such as land cover, changes in land use, and lack of routine maintenance also contribute to the suboptimal drainage system. Based on these findings, recommendations for improving and improving the drainage system include the construction of new channels with larger capacities, routine cleaning of drainage channels, maintenance of natural vegetation, and implementation of more sophisticated information technology and water management. This research has important relevance in the context of flood risk mitigation in Percut Sei Tuan District and the surrounding area. It is hoped that the results of this research can become a basis for policy makers in designing more effective and sustainable drainage management strategies, as well as making a positive contribution in increasing the region's resilience to the threat of flooding in the future
