Pengaruh Pengembangan Sektor Pariwisata Berkelanjutan terhadap Pengembangan Wilayah melalui Optimasi Pemanfaatan Waduk Koto Panjang di Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau

Abstract

Tourism is one of the emphasis on regional development that occurs in Indonesia through the visit Indonesia program. In the implementation of regional development, many governments seek to increase the tourism sector by increasing the attractiveness of tourism in the region. Koto Panjang Reservoir is a reservoir located in Kampar Regency, Riau Province which was developed into one of the local tourist destinations. This research aims to determine the effect of the development of the Koto Panjang Reservoir as a tourist destination on the development of the Kampar Regency area through optimization of the use of the reservoir. The research was carried out by involving 384 visitors to the Koto Panjang Reservoir who came for tourism purposes at that location. The source of the data used is the perception of visitors in the form of primary data. Data was collected by means of structured interviews with the help of research questionnaires. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire was applied before data collection was carried out. Analysis of the data used in this study using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the SmartPLS 3.0 tool. The results of the study show that in the existing conditions the development of the Koto Panjang Reservoir as a tourist destination is more attractive to visitors from the side of beautiful scenery than other elements of sustainable tourism. However, visitors see various potentials for increasing the tourism sector, especially in terms of culinary and resting. Visitors are also interested in selfie tours and water tours offered by the reservoir. The results of the model evaluation indicate that the development of the Koto Panjang Reservoir as a tourist destination can increase the success of regional development. However, resistance to change has emerged which has resulted in a decrease in the perception of optimizing the use of reservoirs that have turned into tourist attractions. Therefore, the development of reservoirs as tourist destinations must be carried out with the right steps.
