dc.description.abstractPaper pallets made from Composite Core Papers (CCP) are one type of pallet that is environmentally friendly and lighter in weight than other pallets. The adhesive used in the manufacture of CCP is a natural adhesive, made from dextrin or starch which has a lower adhesive bond strength compared to synthetic adhesives. The objectives of this study were to determine the optimal amount of nano fly ash addition, determine the effect of nano fly ash addition on adhesive bond strength, and determine the comparison of adhesive-cohesive failure area on dextrin glue fracture. The method used is the experimental method by ball milling fly ash and conducting particle size analyzer (PSA) tests. To see the adhesive bond strength determined by shear test based on ASTM D 905. After that, observations were also made using Image-J for the area of adhesive-cohesive failure and the shape of the fracture in the glue. In this test, the test results were obtained after ball mill and then PSA in fly ash variation sizes of 30 Nm, 40 Nm, and 100 Nm. The results of the shear test with treatment without ballmill has an adhesion of F0% (1.6016 MPa); F1% (1.7050 MPa); F2% (2.3250 MPa); F3% (1.2296 MPa); F4% (1.5138 MPa); F5% (0.9351 MPa). At 500 Rpm ballmill treatment has an adhesive power of FBa1% (1.6791 MPa); FBa2% (1.2142 MPa); FBa3% (1.7360 MPa); FBa4% (0.9041 MPa); FBa5% (1.4053 MPa). At 1000 Rpm ballmill treatment has an adhesive power of FBa1% (0.9301 MPa); FBa2% (1.2555 MPa); FBa3% (1.3123 MPa); FBa4% (1.0850 MPa); FBa5% 0.8885 MPa). The test results from the observation of the adhesive-cohesive failure area for the F0 sample obtained 505.685 mm2 and for the F2%, FBa1%, FBa5% samples there was no adhesive failure at all, the cohesive failure area was 1,935.48 mm2.en_US
