Sistem Informasi Geografis Pemetaan Lahan Pertanian dan Komoditas Unggulan Berbasis Website di Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Pakpak Bharat

Abstract

Pakpak Bharat Regency is one of the districts in North Sumatra Province with the agricultural sector as its main income, and has a fairly large agricultural land. Mapping of agricultural land and superior commodities needs to be carried out to determine the area of land used for agricultural activities and develop other land that has the potential for agriculture, superior commodities can be used as a reference for commodity development that has an impact on economic development. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an information system that can help in mapping agricultural land and superior commodities. This research aims to build a website-based Geographic Information System that contains information about the mapping of agricultural land and superior commodities in each sub-district in Pakpak Bharat Regency based on land area data, production data, and types of commodities. The method used in this study is the observation method and literature study to collect data and information at the Pakpak Bharat Agriculture Office, and use the Location quotient method to determine superior commodities. The superior commodity is determined based on the highest Location quotient value in each subsector The results obtained are the superior commodity in the vegetable subsector is tomatoes found in the Kerajaan sub-sector, the biopharmaceutical subsector is aromatic ginger found in the sub-districts of Sitellu Tali Urang Jehe, the fruit subsector is mangosteen found in Salak sub-district, the plantation crop subsector is vanilla in Salak sub-district, and the food crop subsector is peanuts in Pagindar district.
