Pengujian Mutu Benih dan Pertumbuhan Vegetatif Hasil Produksi Padi Sawah (Oryza sativa L.) yang Diberi NPK dan Biosaka
Testing Seed Quality and Vegetative Growth Yield of Rice Paddy (Oryza sativa L.) Production Results Treated with NPK and Biosaka
Abstract
The demand for rice continues to increase every year due to the growing
population. This results in an increasingly high national food demand. One efford
to increase rice Paddy production is by using fertilizers and quality seed. This
study aims to assess the yield of rice Paddy treated with NPK fertilizer and
Biosaka on seed quality and vegetatif growth of rice paddy. This research was
conducted from November 2023 to February 2024 at the Seed Technology
Laboratory then vegetative growth research was conducted in the greenhouse of
the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The design used in this
study was arranged in a Split Plot Design consisting of 3 replications with 2
treatment factors. The first factor was the seeds of crop production treated with
NPK fertilizer: 0, 150, and 300 kg/ha. The second factor was plant-produced
seeds treated with Biosaka: 0, 20, and 40 ml/15 L. Application of NPK at a dose
of 300 kg/ha on plants has a significant effect on improving seed quality on
growth potential, normal germination, seed vigor index, increasing plant height at
2 MSPT, panicle number and root wet weight, and root dry weight. Application of
Biosaka with a concentration of 40 ml/15L on plants has a significant effect on
improving seed quality on growth potential, seed vigor index, germination rate
and can increase the number of panicles.
