    Abstract
The banking industry in Indonesia plays an important role in driving national economic growth. One banking product that makes a significant contribution is consumer credit. Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) Medan Branch Office (KC Medan) as one of the leading banks in Indonesia offers various consumer credit products, with interest rates being one of the main determining factors in credit demand. Understanding the relationship between interest rates and consumer credit demand is crucial for BTN KC Medan in formulating effective business strategies. This research aims to analyze the influence of interest rates on consumer credit demand at Bank BTN KC Medan. This research uses quantitative methods with a simple linear regression analysis approach. Historical data from 2019 to 2024 used includes the average BTN Bank interest rate and the number of consumer credit requests for the last 5 years (2019-2024). The research results show that there is a significant negative relationship between interest rates and consumer credit demand at Bank BTN KC Medan. This means that when interest rates increase, consumer credit demand will decrease. This is in line with economic theory which states that an increase in interest rates will increase borrowing costs and reduce people's purchasing power. The coefficient of determination (R2) shows that 96,4% of variations in consumer credit demand can be explained by variations in interest rates. This shows that interest rates have a fairly strong influence on consumer credit demand.
