dc.description.abstract | The objectives of this study are to analyze the theme and moral lessons in the film Five Feet Apart by using descriptive qualitative method. This research employed Stanton’s theory to analyze the theme through the intrinsic elements such as characters, setting, and plot. The moral lessons were analyzed throguh the human relationship between themselves and the social environment. The data were the dialog or monolog of the main characters in the film Five Feet Apart. Based on the analysis theme through characters, setting, and plot, it is found that the theme in this film is Stella's struggle to be with someone she loves despite being limited by their disease. The moral lessons found in this film are responsibility, self-resistance, optimism, caring, helpfulness, and thoughtfulness. It is concluded that character, plot, and setting affect a theme in the film. In addition, when analyzed carefully, every film certainly offers some moral lessons. | en_US |
