Revitalization of Stadium Kebun Bunga with Infill Development Design
Abstract
Kebun Bunga Stadium Kebun Bunga Stadium is one of the historical sites in the city of Medan. However, the building no longer has adequate
facilities and has been somewhat neglected. Kebun Bunga Stadium is an ancient structure that, if repurposed, could become an iconic symbol
of the city. Heritage tourism is currently experiencing robust growth. The reuse or revitalization of historical buildings with new and significant
functions demonstrates the potential to accommodate community activities appropriately. This also applies to the Kebun Bunga Stadium area,
which physically grows and develops alongside the existence of historical buildings. This condition must be balanced with the availability of
supporting facilities such as changing rooms, toilets, cafes, and other amenities. Additionally, the provision of area amenities can be carried
out based on the concepts of infill design and Sequence Concept to maintain the existing area's value. The discussion method used is
qualitative, utilizing primary data from interviews and secondary data from literature reviews. From the analysis and concepts, a proposed
design for Kebun Bunga Stadium is obtained, involving strategies with the function of a Type B Stadium. The proposed design employs the
concept of infill design as one effort in revitalizing the area while preserving its characteristics through an urban heritage approach
