dc.description.abstract | Accepting diversity is necessary in today's globalized environment, yet it can be difficult to adjust to different communication and practices. This research, aims to describe how are types and what are the causes of challenges in adapting multiculturalism faced by main characters in Minari film. This research applied qualitative descriptive method with intrinsic approach by collecting, classifying, and analyzing dialogues in the film as stated in the problem of the study by employing Çi̇zmeci̇'s theory. Based on the analysis done, it was found that the five main characters in the Minari film, Soonja, Jacob, Monica, Anne, and David faced social integration, communication and prejudice, fair treatment, and cultural identity preservation, educational and media challenges in adapting multiculturalism. These challenges were caused by the main characters are dominant culture influence, conformity expectations, bias and stereotypes, ignorance and misunderstanding, structural inequality. | en_US |
