    Abstract
Pematangsiantar as a municipal city, has extensive government responsibilities in managing city affairs, including transportation infrastructure such as terminals. However, the Parluasan terminal in the city faces various problems, including damage, lack of maintenance, and high crime rates. In this context, the application of the principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is important to improve safety and comfort in the terminal. Case studies on the Parluasan terminal show that the condition decreases, causing the continuity of terminal function to be disrupted and increasing the risk of crime. Major problems include infrastructure damage, lack of oversight, and insecurity for terminal users. These factors are also linked to increased crime rates around terminals, which can be triggered by an unsafe physical environment and a lack of public awareness. The implementation of CPTED can be a solution in improving security at the Parluasan terminal. This concept involves designing a physical environment that pays attention to safety aspects, such as adequate lighting, access regulation, and effective supervision. By implementing CPTED, terminals can become a safe and comfortable environment for users, as well as reduce the risk of crime. In this context, the role of the government and community participation is very important in implementing CPTED and improving security at the Parluasan terminal. Concrete mearuse such as infrastructure improvements, increased supervision, and increased security awareness can help overcome the problems faced by the terminal, so as to maintain the function and improve the quality of service for terminal users as well as improve the image of the terminal as a safe and convenient capital exchange center.
