Islamic Facility Center with Green Building Approach in Deli Serdang
Abstract
Decreasing number of Muslim communities in North Sumatra between 2018 and 2022 is the main idea for this research. Designing and building an Islamic facility centre could become a solution to maintain and increasing the Muslim population. With the existence of an Islamic facility centre, the community will be helped not only based on beliefs, but also by the economic turnover. The Islamic facility centre implemented the concept of Green Building architecture in order to reduce the impact of pollution and the implementation of zero emission carbon, with the aim of attracting visitors to come and become users of the Islamic facility centre.
The Islamic facility centre building has no limitations on users, ranging from religion to special needs. The Islamic facility centre will be used by non-Muslims and people with special needs, because the design will also apply Universal Design to facilitate access for everyone.
The Islamic Facility Centre is also a tourist area, as it is designed to be away from the densely populated city. A library, garden area, classrooms, exhibition halls and more will complement the building's core spaces.
