The research outlines the categorization of volitive interjections in the Indonesian language based on meaning and form. The Natural Semantic Metalanguage theory is applied to analyze and classify volitive interjections according to their meanings. In the study, volitive interjections are categorized based on the purpose of these interjections. Data for this research was collected through observation methods, with sources including several Batak Toba language storybooks and novels such as "Sijanggual" and "Mangongkal Holi". Additionally, some data was obtained by observing conversations among Batak Toba-speaking communities who were born and live in native villages. Data was also gathered from observing videos of operas, short films, or videos depicting the daily activities of Batak Toba-speaking communities. The results are presented using the distributional method, identifying a total of 27 volitive interjections in the Batak Toba language. The study found 27 volitive interjections in the Batak Toba language, including interjections such as "ck!", "sst!", "heeik!", "hush!", "hesh…hesh!", "pigi", "awas!", "ck..ck..ck", "hurreh", "grrguk..grrguk..grrguk", "kulikkulikkuk", "nah!", "bah", "boh", "oop!", "eh", "age", "ehe", "woi", "hoi", "oi", "hei", "hah", "hm". These interjections are further explained based on their meanings and categorizations.en_US
