Eksplorasi dan Identifikasi Karakter Agronomi Bawang Merah Lokal Samosir (Allium ascalonicum L.) di Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan dan Samosir
Exploration and Identification of Agronomic Characteristics of Local Samosir Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) in Humbang Hasundutan and Samosir Regencies
Abstract
In order to meet the need for shallots in North Sumatra, the Government
imported shallots which resulted in the transition of local onions to introduced
onions and resulted in local Samosir shallots becoming scarce. Therefore, efforts
are being made to prevent the extinction of local Samosir shallots such as
inventory, collection, characterization and evaluation. This research aims to
identify the agronomic characteristics of local Samosir shallots in Humbang
Hasundutan and Samosir Regencies. This research was conducted in Humbang
Hasundutan and Samosir Regencies in August-January 2024, using a survey
method with stages, namely, exploration, characterization, identification and data
analysis. The results of the research show that in Humbang Hasundutan Regency
there are 10 accessions of local Samosir shallots and in Samosir Regency there
are 5 accessions of local Samosir shallots. Results of morphological
characteristics for leaf color (dark green, green, gray green), leaf shape (hollow
cylindrical), leaf texture (medium, strong), leaf density (low, medium), leaf
position (medium), flower color ( white), tuber shape (globe, broad oval and
broad elliptic) and tuber color (purple/white). Based on dendogram analysis, it
was found that the closest kinship relationships were the Tipang 1 and Tipang 2
accessions with a dissimilarity value of 0.00% and the furthest kinship
relationships were the Tanjung Bunga accession and the Turpuk Sihotang
accession with a dissimilarity value of 7.45%.
