    Abstract
    Anak Laut Lake is a saltwater lake located in Gosong Telaga Barat Village, North Singkil District, Aceh Singkil Regency. Anak Laut Lake as a location for fishermen's livelihoods and tourism areas is feared to affect the structure of the plankton community and water quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of tides with the structure of the plankton community and its relationship with physical – chemical water parameters and water pollution status based on saprobic index. The research was conducted in March – April 2023. Sampling was done during high and low tide conditions with purposive sampling technique. The results of this study are the spatial abundance of plankton at high and low tide is 3,309 - 4,588 Sel/L, while the temporal abundance of plankton is ranging from 2,563 - 5,524 Sel/L. The average diversity index (H') was 2.50 with moderate criteria, the average evenness index (E) was 0.60 with high criteria, and the average dominance index (D) was 0.24 with low criteria. The relationship between plankton abundance and diversity with physical – chemical water parameters at high and low tide showed strong to very strong correlation values in the parameters of temperature, pH, TSS, DO, and nitrate in spatial, and salinity, brightness, pH, and phosphate parameters in temporal. Spatial and temporal saprobic index values show β-mesosaprobic with a low degree of pollution at high and low tides.
