Abstract

This research discusses the types of animal metaphors and the meaning of animal metaphors found in 10 Mandarin songs in the period 1990-2000. This research aims to describe the types of animal metaphors and the meaning of animal metaphors found in 10 Mandarin songs from 1990-2000. This research uses cognitive semantic studies which study the meanings of depictions of human nature through the use of animal names in Mandarin songs from 1990-2000. To analyze research problems, linguistic theory and cognitive semantic theory are used which analyze language concepts and sentences in Mandarin songs through human thinking. The research method used by the author is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results obtained from this research are that there are various types of animals and various meanings contained in 10 Mandarin songs from 1990-2000.
