dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this research is to identify the different types of speech errors along with the causes of those errors made by Jay Shetty and Jim Kwik on the Jay Shetty Podcast entitled If You Feel Lazy, Lost & Unmotivated, Watch This to Change Everything in 2023. This research used a qualitative descriptive method, specifically a content analysis method, in the process of analysis. Data collection involves several steps such as watching, transcribing, and finally selecting the data. The data in this research is in the form of utterances containing errors, and the data source is a video podcast hosted by Jay Shetty featuring Jim Kwik as a guest, which was downloaded from the Jay Shetty Podcast channel on YouTube. The theory used in this research is speech errors theory that proposed by Clark and Clark. The research finding showed that the podcast host, made 174 errors, and Jim, the podcast guest, made 165 errors which in total of 339 errors. 8 types of speech errors were found with no slips of the tongue. It is also known that the most common type of error is repetition, which occurred 127 times. Cognitive difficulties and social issues (situational anxiety) influenced the occurrence of errors during Jay Shetty and Jim Kwik's interactions. | en_US |
