dc.description.abstract | This study aims to describe the hierarchy of needs experienced by the main character in the novel Sesuk by Tere Liye starting from the most basic needs to the highest needs so that the form of fulfillment of the main character's needs in the novel can be seen. This research uses Abraham Maslow's Humanistic Psychology theory regarding the level of needs starting from physiological needs, security needs, social needs, appreciation needs, and self-actualization needs. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method that will produce research data in the form of words, phrases, and sentences that show the hierarchy of needs of the main character in the novel Sesuk by Tere Liye. The data source of this research is the novel Sesuk by Tere Liye. The data collection techniques in this research are library method, listening method, and note taking method which are analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, data parsing, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results of the research found a hierarchy of needs for the main character including physiological needs such as food and shelter, found 25 data. Security needs include security from anxiety and worry, found 9 data. Social needs include being accepted by the environment and being loved, found 8 data. Appreciation needs include appreciation of beauty, independence, achievement, and recognition, found 17 data. Self-actualization needs found 12 characteristics among 14 characteristics, found 51 data. | en_US |
