Literary psychology is a field of study that combines the principles of psychology with literary analysis to understand the behavior, motivations and thoughts of characters in literary works. It involves an exploration of how literary works affect readers and how psychological understanding can be used to analyze characters, plots, and themes in literary works. This research aims to describe the individual principles of the characters in the novel Azzamine by Sophie Aulia based on Alfred Adler's individual principles. The theory used in this research is Literary Psychology which refers to Alfred Adler's Individual Psychology. To collect data, reading and note-taking techniques were used and data analysis used descriptive analysis methods. The research results show that the characters in the novel Azzamine by Sophie Aulia have individual principles, namely the principle of superiority, the principle of inferiority, the principle of self-consistency, the principle of social interest, the principle of lifestyle, and the principle of creative self.
