Struktur Kepribadian Tokoh Utama dalam Novel Laut Bercerita Karya Leila S. Chudori: Kajian Psikologi Sastra

Abstract

This research discusses the personality structure of the main character in the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori using Harry Stack Sullivan's personality structure theory. Sullivan asserts that the structure of a person's personality is dynamic. Therefore, the concept of a static id, ego and super ego, promoted by Sigmund Freud, seems to be incompatible with Sullivan's view. Sullivan's personality structure includes dynamism, personification, self system, and cognitive process. This study aims to describe the personality structure of sea characters in the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori based on Harry Stack Sullivan's personality structure. The research method used is a qualitative description method with data collection techniques using literature study techniques, reading techniques, and notes. The data in this study are in the form of quotations in the novel that show the personality structure that exists in the main character in the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori. The data analysis technique in this research is presenting the data, recording and observing it, describing the research results, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research are 55 data from the two main characters.
