    Abstract
The vegetarian lifestyle is increasingly popular among modern society, including among the Chinese community in Medan City. Vegetarianism is not only chosen as a dietary choice, but also as a lifestyle that prioritizes health, sustainability and care for the environment. The Chinese community in Medan City has a rich culture and tradition, yet few understand how a vegetarian lifestyle can be integrated into their daily lives. In the context of globalization and modernization, vegetarian lifestyles are becoming increasingly relevant to study, especially in the context of the Chinese community in Medan City. The challenges faced by this community include a lack of knowledge about the health benefits of a vegetarian diet, difficulty in finding quality vegetarian food ingredients, and resistance to change from traditional diets. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the vegetarian lifestyle within the Chinese community in Medan City, as well as to explore the impact of this lifestyle on health and the environment. Thus, this study is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of vegetarian lifestyle among the Chinese community in Medan City. The benefits of this research are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of public health policies, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and environmental conservation. In addition, the results of this study are also expected to be a reference for future researchers who are interested in digging deeper into vegetarian lifestyles in the context of Chinese culture.
