Abstract

This thesis is entitled "Tobus Huning in the Simalungun Batak Ethnic Marhajabuan Ceremony: A Study of Local Wisdom". The aim of writing this thesis is to describe the stages of tobus huning and describe the value of local wisdom in tobus huning. In this thesis, the method used is a descriptive qualitative method. The theory used in this thesis is the theory of local wisdom put forward by Robert Sibarani. Based on the results of the research, there are several stages in the implementation of tobus huning starting from manririt, martondur, mangangkat poldung, mambere Tanda hata, marlasa-lasa, pajabu parsahapan, manurduk demban ruttas talun, manurduk demban bona niandar, manurduk demban ruttas dinding, manurduk demban dob das, manurduk demban sisei, manurduk demban buha sahap, manurduk demban panungkunan, manurduk demban hombar-hombar, manungkun hubani sipartunangan, manghorjahon parriahan, manurduk demban parhombaran, pattapei parsahapan, manurduk demban dob tappei parsahapan, manurduk demban pamuhuman, mangondoshon partadingan , manguge partadingan, manjujung partadingan, mambere boras tenger, manimpan partadingan, manurduk demban bangal, tobus huning, and there are 11 local wisdom values in the tobus huning tradition, namely politeness, honesty, social solidarity, harmony and conflict resolution, commitment, positive thinking, gratitude, discipline, gender management, cultural preservation and creativity, and caring for the environment.
