This research aims to describe the pronunciation errors by Sibolga students of the English Literature Department of Universitas Sumatera Utara in pronunciation of English Vowels to find out the errors they make are and how to correct that mistake, with the tittle “Analysis of English vowel speech experiencing phonetic acoustic”. This research using Yule acoustic phonetic study. This study uses a qualitative method. This research uses observation, recording and questionnaire methods. The data for this research are voice recordings from 10 English Literature Students who have passed the phonology subject at the Universitas Sumatera Utara. The correct English pronunciation was taken from a native speaker, which was used as a standard for pronunciation. This research uses Praat software to analyze phonemes through samples voice recordings. After conducting research, it was found that no one student had the same pronunciation as a native speaker. Of the 20 English vowels that had been determine, there were 11 errors which means 55% of the errors occurred. The 11 vowels were /e/, /ʌ/, /ʊ /, /ɒ/, /iː/, /ɔː/, and /ɜː/, /əʊ/, /ɪə/, /aɪ/, /ʊə/. These errors caused by the mother tongue the researcher have provided methode to improve the pronunciation of English word.
